Identity Theft Rocks My Family

Recently my daughter became the victim of identity theft. I like to call it hijacking.

Imagine a man who runs an identity theft prevention blog having one of my own family members compromised.

As I understand the situation…

…she’d gone to check her bank account online and discovered over $1,000 missing and unaccounted for.

While she wasn’t frantic, she was understandably puzzled.

She knew she hadn’t written a cheque for that amount and needed to talk to her husband to see if he’d authorized the deduction.

Nope. Not he.

Now her stress level is really up.

And…

…it’s Fridayafter the bank has closed!

Fortunately she is a member of a credit union and they have Saturday hours. She had to wait. And as you can imagine that wasn’t easy.
