Identity theft scam question?
Is there a scam out there that gets somebody’s identity by sending the victim a fake check (not a money order check) for them to deposit and then the scammer gets the victim’s identity somehow by the victim cashing it?
I used to work at Chase Bank and got lots of people getting scammed all the time…they send you a check you cash it using your account and send them 75% of the cash and keep the rest…then the check bounces and you owe he bank LOTS of money! I don’t know how they steal your identity though. I never heard that one…….
