SKY TV Scam??
I received a call from a company supposedly marketing for SKY TV offering a great deal that I couldn’t possibly refuse. A mix with 250 channels(SKY Sports included) for £16, add SKY Movies for another pound and you’ve got a deal for £ 17 + £30 activation charge. I asked him if he was calling from India and he said he was calling from the Philippines. These guys sounded so genuine, I placed an order with them last Friday by giving him my bank details and he said that he or his agent would call for scheduling an appointment for the installation on Monday. Its Wednesday now, so far no call. I called up SKY TV and they have no details of the order on their system and they confirmed that they have no call centre in the Philippines. I just checked my bank account and everything seemed normal, so far so good as far as the bank is concerned. What do you guys think? Is this a scam/identity theft? What should my next course of action. These guys have me properly pissed. Advice please.
contact your bank and have them keep a close eye on your account for suspicious activity.
Hey all Yeah i too had this call they must think im thick tbh for 1 i have never even had sky. And i got a call from so called sky Witheld number obviously like normal scams. Now 2nd sky never withold their number. So i answered this call and its the 2nd time i got this so called scam calling me. I pick up phone a foreigner on the phone says to me It's sky we're just ringing to check if your sky box is working. They tried this once before but like i said i've never even had sky ever in my life so i said to him yeah this is a bit suspicious isn't it i've never even had sky in my life then the phone went dead on this so called scamers end. Are they thick or what. I've had to tell friends and family about this so their aware that this is a scam calling company. So i'm just adding to this review about my experiances Like i allways say it clearly states that with any company you do not have to give any info to them atall allways be aware that sky will allways show up on caller display. secondly b4 giving them any information ask them to quote your account number for sky and i guarantee you will be pleasently surprised that they will put the phone down on you. Take these steps with this scam company and they will stop calling but i think people who have sky sould let sky know about this scam. Hope this helps
